Annie Johnston was called to the Bar in 1990 first practising from the Chambers of Karim Kahlil QC and subsequently at Carmelite Chambers.
Annie is a skilled advocate and master tactician specialising in Commercial Fraud and wrongful trading at both a civil and criminal level. Her persistence and drive, particularly in cases where the integrity of directors and senior management has been called into question, is second to none.
In respect of her areas of expertise, Annie has considerable experience in cases prosecuted by the Serious Fraud Office and has defended clients in a number of high profile cases including some of the largest multi-million pound prosecutions ever brought by the SFO.
Annie also represents disgruntled investors and shareholders who have been defrauded or misled by unscrupulous companies or individuals. She has been successful in recovering significant damages for her clients in the civil Courts.
Annie’s practice extends to regulatory issues including professional disciplinary proceedings as well as appearing before the VAT Tribunal, the General Medical Council and the General Dental Council.
